The University of Benin Alumni Association of North America (UBAANA) has built and donated a multi-million naira ultra-modern Recreation Centre to the University of Benin for use by students of the institution.

Located at the Ugbowo campus of the institution, the Recreation Centre, a signature project of the President Alex Imuetinyan Eronmwon-led UBAANA, was commissioned on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Lilian Salami.

The UBAANA Recreation Centre at Ugbowo campus is significantly larger than the UBAANA Recreation
Centre at Ekehuan Campus, commissioned in August 2022.

Professor Salami said the ultra-modern facility was a testament to the dedication and generosity of the
North America alumni body and commended UBAANA and President Eronmwon for their tireless efforts in bringing the project to fruition.

The vice chancellor, who commissioned the facility, noted that the UBAANA Recreation Centre would provide students with a unique space to relax, socialize, and engage in various activities, ultimately enriching their learning experiences.

This state-of-the-art centre features charging hubs, a fully equipped office, a convenience store, restrooms, expansive open areas with seating, snooker, and table tennis.
